Rams on a winning streak, and Saints are next

November 12th, 2009 | by Mark Hooper |

Ok, I admit I’m reaching big-time, but what else can you possibly say to at least get a little excitement going in this game? If I were a coach I’d point at last week’s Tampa Bay win against the lowly Pack, the Panthers thrasing of the Cards, or the Raiders whuppin’ of the Eagles. Anything can happen in today’s NFL, and if you let your guard down just about any team and given week can upset an otherwise superior team.
And with the Saints absolutely struggling against the run, we will definitely have some issues with Steven Jackson. If Bulger can manage to put together four decent quarters with few mistakes, this game could be tight. Unless Scott Fujita is back healthy and Roman Harper is allowed to be in the box, Jackson will run for a hundred and fifty, and will eat clock.

But I’m a realist, this Rams team is bad. Real bad. No way that defense can slow down Brees and company, and even Steven Jackson having a career year won’t be enough to keep this game close. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this game out of hand by the fourth quarter, and the Saints “D” collecting a handful of sacks and a couple of picks. Saints win big 42-13
